Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, as per the transfer Insider Dean Jones.

The Gunners are seemingly exploring the possibility of signing a new winger within the final few days of the transfer window and the Eagles man has emerged as a new potential target for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Earlier this week David Ornstein reported that Wolves star Pedro Neto is the priority target for the north London club to bolster their flanks this summer.

And apart from the Portugal international, Villarreal youngster Yeremy Pino has also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Meanwhile, speaking on the Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has stated that Neto and Pino aren’t the only two options that Arsenal are keeping an eye on at the moment. They are also exploring Wilfried Zaha ‘in the background’.

The journalist further claims that the 29-year-old’s potential move to the Emirates Stadium ‘isn’t moving forward at the moment’ but the Ivorian could be a suitable option for the Gunners and they ‘have an eye on’ him.

Wilfried Zaha to Arsenal

Jones said:

“They’re not the only two names they’re looking at (Neto and Yeremy Pino). In the background, there is Wilfried Zaha. That deal is not moving forward at the moment, but Zaha is definitely one of those players that ticks the boxes and that Arsenal have an eye on. We will have to wait and see if they go down that path, Zaha is obviously in red-hot form at the moment,”

Wilfried Zaha is an interesting option for Arsenal. The forward is currently 29, but the Gunners haven’t signed a player above the age of 25 in the last couple of years under Arteta.

However, with the forward’s current deal with Palace set to expire at the end of this newly-started campaign, Zaha could be a feasible option for Arteta’s side.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see whether the Eagles would allow the departure of their key first-team player at this stage of the transfer window or decide to keep hold of him for one more year, despite the risk of losing him for free next summer.

Zaha is valued at around £34m by Transfermarkt but the forward should be available for less than that due to his current contract situation. So, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal will go for their primary target Neto or switch their focus onto the Ivory Coast international who is a cheaper alternative to the Wolves star.
