Arsenal are eyeing a move for Wolves star Pedro Neto and the north London club have received a big boost in pursuit of the highly-rated forward with the Molineux side closing in on a deal to sign Valencia ace Goncalo Guedes, according to the report in Express.

Despite signing Gabriel Jesus this summer, Arsenal are seemingly eager to add more options to their attacking department. The Gunners have already been linked with multiple attacking options this summer and the new addition to that list is Pedro Neto.

The 22-year-old joined the West Midlands club back in 2019 and enjoyed a productive start to his life in the Premier League. However, a serious knee injury that he sustained a couple of seasons ago had kept him away from football for almost the entirety of the last season before returning to action for the final few games.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese international was in the starting line-up for Bruno Lage’s side last weekend against Leeds United and displayed a promising performance in the season opener, despite losing 2-1.

Arsenal want Neto

As per the report in the Express, Arsenal are now targeting a move to sign Neto and their pursuit has been boosted by the news that Wolves are closing in on a deal to sign Goncalo Guedes.

The report also claims that in order to make room for the 25-year-old in the squad the Molineux club could cash in on Neto this summer which will allow Arsenal to make their move for the highly-rated forward. Neto is valued at £28.8m by Transfermakt, although Wolves are likely to demand more than that for the attacker.

I think signing the 22-year-old would be a shrewd decision by Arsenal. He is a versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line. And given the fact that the youngster can play on both flanks, the Portuguese can deputise for both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka..

Meanwhile, Arteta needs more attacking options at his disposal in order to keep his option fresh throughout a gruelling campaign now that Arsenal are back in Europe.

So, it will be interesting to how many more signings Arsenal make before the end of the transfer window having already made five major acquisitions this summer.

What would Arsenal want with Pedro Neto’s right shin? That’s all that £28.8m would get you! Try reversing those three numbers and you might be talking.
