Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Wolves – Martinelli starts
Arsenal take on Wolves at the Emirates Stadium tonight knowing a win would put us in pole position to clinch fourth place this season.
Number one goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale starts once again between the sticks this evening while Kieran Tierney lines-up at left-back for the Gunners. Ben White and Gabriel continue their blossoming partnership in the middle of defence so Ron Holding remains on the bench.
Takehiro Tomiyasu isn’t included in the squad, which is a bit of a worry as he was meant to have recovered from his calf issue, so Cedric Soares keeps his place at right-back.
Thomas Partey starts once again for Arsenal and he’s joined in midfield by Granit Xhaka. Therefore, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Mohamed Elneny have to settle for places among the substitutes.
Bukayo Saka keeps his place after scoring the winner against Brentford at the weekend. Martin Odegaard is also rewarded for his fine form with another start in the attacking midfield role tonight.
However, Emile Smith Rowe isn’t included in the squad due to illness – which isn’t related to covid. Gabriel Martinelli returns from suspension to start on the left side of the Arsenal attack.
Alexandre Lacazette keeps his place up front so Eddie Nketiah is on the bench along with Nicolas Pepe and youngster Omari Hutchinson.
These are the line-ups:
Arsenal
Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette.
Subs: Leno, Holding, Tavares, Swanson, Elneny, Lokonga, Hutchinson, Pepe, Nketiah.
Wolves
Sa, Kilman, Coady, Saiss, Semedo, Neves, Moutinho, Ait-Nouri, Podence, Jimenez, Hwang
Subs: Ruddy, Marcal, Neto, Trincao, Silva, Jonny, Toti, Dendoncker, Cundle.
