Arsenal desperately need to get back to winning ways when we take on Burnley at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

Mikel Arteta has been dealt a blow with the news that Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out after aggravating a calf injury during Arsenal’s Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool on Thursday night.

With Cedric Soares still out injured, Ben White appears to have moved to right-back with 26-year-old Rob Holding coming in alongside Gabriel in the middle of the back four. Kieran Tierney continues at left-back ahead of Nuno Tavares.

Thomas Partey is suspended after his sending off against Liverpool while Granit Xhaka is also still banned so Albert Sambi Lokonga is joined by Martin Odegaard in midfield with Emile Smith Rowe in a more advanced central role.

Alexandre Lacazette continues to lead the line up front for Arsenal this afternoon with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli offering support in the attack.

However, Arteta has very little experience to call upon from the bench as five of Arsenal’s substitutes haven’t played a single minute of Premier League football yet. Eddie Nketiah is the only senior option along with defenders Tavares and Calum Chambers. The rest of the bench is filled with kids.

These are the teams:

Arsenal

Ramsdale, Tierney, White, Gabriel, Holding, Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Lokonga, Lacazette, Martinelli.

Subs: Leno, Tavares, Chambers, Nketiah, Alebiousu, Biereth, Oulad M’hand, Hutchinson, Patino.

Burnley

Pope, Roberts, Mee, Tarkowski, Pieters, Brownhill, Lennon, Westwood, McNeil, Rodriguez, Vydra.

Subs: Lowton, Cork, Gudmundsson, Hennessey, Stephens, Collins, Bardsley, Long, Thomas
