Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – Key men fit to start, Partey in squad
Arsenal will be looking to book their place in the Carabao Cup final when we take on Liverpool in the semi-final second leg at the Emirates tonight.
Mikel Arteta welcomes several players back into contention after being forced to postpone Sunday’s NLD against Tottenham. Martin Odegaard returns after being released from isolation having tested positive for covid last week and he starts this evening.
Emile Smith Rowe is also fit to return after recovering from a groin injury so he lines-up along with Odegaard and Albert Sambi Lokonga in midfield in the absence of Granit Xhaka – who’s suspended. Thomas Partey is surprisingly named on the bench after only arriving back from African this morning.
Aaron Ramsdale starts in goal for Arsenal so Bernd Leno is on the bench while Ben White and Gabriel line-up in defence. Kieran Tierney is passed fit after recovering from a knock while Takehiro Tomiyasu returns at right-back for Arsenal after overcoming a calf issue.
Bukayo Saka is also passed fit after overcoming a minor issue that he picked up during the 0-0 first leg draw at Anfield last week. Alexandre Lacazette leads the line up front while Gabriel Martinelli keeps his place in the Arsenal attack.
Arteta has named a young bench with Charlie Patino joined by the likes of Ryan Alebiosu, Salah-Eddine, Eddie Nketiah and Mika Biereth among the substitutes.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Sambi Lokonga, Odegaard; Saka, Smith Rowe; Martinelli; Lacazette
Subs: Hein, Holding, Alebiosu, Tavares, Partey, Patino, Salah-Eddine, Nketiah, Biereth
Liverpool
Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Jones; Gordon, Firmino, Jota.
Subs: Alisson, Adrian, Konate, Milner, Gomez, Minamino, Tsimikas, Williams, Morton.
