Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Tottenham – Xhaka starts, no Pepe

By on September 26, 2021

Arsenal take on fierce rivals Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon, kick-off 4.30pm.

Mikel Arteta has made wholesale changes from the side that beat AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup with Aaron Ramsdale coming in for Bernd Leno between the sticks.

It’s all-change in the Arsenal back four with Takehiro Tomiyasu, Ben White, Gabriel and Kieran Tierney all recalled to replace Cedric Soares, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Nuno Tavares.

Thomas Partey keeps his place in midfield after building up his fitness with a 60 minute run out in midweek. Granit Xhaka is given a recall to line-up alongside Partey in Arsenal’s midfield after serving his three-match suspension. Sambi has to settle for a place among the subs.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are recalled after being rested in the League Cup so Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah drop out while Emile Smith Rowe is given the nod ahead of Nicolas Pepe.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang comes back in to lead the line up front for Arsenal so Alexandre Lacazette has to settle for a place on the bench against Tottenham today.

These are the line-ups for the game:
