Everton vs Arsenal: Match preview with team news and betting odds
Arsenal need a positive result to turn our season around when we take on Everton at Goodison Park this evening.
It’s been a torrid campaign so far for Arsenal as we’ve endured our worst start to a league campaign in over 60 years. A run of just four wins and seven defeats in our first 13 Premier League games has left us sitting way down in 15th position in the table.
We somehow managed to take just one point from two very winnable home games against Burnley and Southampton over the past week so it’s imperative Arsenal take something away from Goodison Park tonight.
However, this is going to be an extremely tough game as Everton are flying right now. After beating Chelsea last weekend they won 2-0 at Leicester in midweek to leave Carlo Ancelotti’s side in fifth place – just two points off second-placed Tottenham.
The Italian boss has built a very dangerous side so Arsenal are going to have to produce one of our best performances of the season if we’re to take anything away from Goodison Park to help ease the pressure on Mikel Arteta.
Team news
Arsenal will be without Granit Xhaka once again as he’s still serving his suspension and Gabriel joins him on the sidelines after being shown a red card against Southampton on Wednesday night.
Thomas Partey is still recovering from a thigh injury but Hector Bellerin is back in contention after serving a one game ban. David Luiz, Willian and Alexandre Lacazette are pushing for recalls for the Gunners.
Everton will be without James Rodriguez as the South American is still out with a calf injury while Lucas Digne and Allan are also unavailable for selection this evening. However, Seamus Coleman returns to the squad.
Betting odds
Everton are the narrow 7/4 favourites with the bookmakers and you can find the best sites to place your bet at https://www.onlinecasinosnoop.com which also provides details of welcome bonuses and offers. Arsenal are priced at 17/10 to win tonight and the draw is available at odds of around 23/10.
Arsenal have been struggling for goals this season so I don’t expect a goal-fest on Merseyside. A 1-1 draw looks a decent bet at 5/1 but if you fancy us to edge it then a 2-1 Arsenal win can be backed at 17/2.
Prediction
Everton 1-1 Arsenal: It’s difficult to know what Arsenal will turn up as we’ve shown signs of getting back to our best this season but equally we’ve produced some woeful performances. We’re more than capable of winning this game but the lack of confidence in the squad is a worry.
If we can keep eleven men on the field I’m confident we can get something, so I’m backing a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.
