Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Southampton: Nketiah and Maitland-Niles start
Arsenal take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium tonight in a must-win game following our disastrous start to the season.
Mikel Arteta has made four changes from the side that lost to Burnley on Sunday with Ainsley Maitland-Niles coming in for the suspended Hector Bellerin at right-back. Gabriel, Ron Holding and Kieran Tierney all keep their places n the back four with Bernd Leno in goal.
Dani Ceballos joins Mo Elneny in midfield as he replaces Granit Xhaka – who begins his three-match ban following his sending off at the weekend. Nicolas Pepe is recalled to start ahead of Willian in the Arsenal attack after completing his ban.
Bukayo Saka keeps his place while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also start and he’ll be looking to end his goal drought. Eddie Nketiah is given a rare Premier League start for Arsenal with Alexandre Lacazette dropping out.
It will be interesting to see how Arsenal shape-up but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us deploy a 3-4-3 with Maitland-Niles and Saka as wing-backs.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Leno, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Maitland-Niles, Ceballos, Elneny, Saka, Pepe, Nketiah, Aubameyang
Subs: Lacazette, Willian, Runarsson, Cedric, Mustafi, Luiz, Willock
Southampton
McCarthy, Walker-Peters, Vestergaard, Bednarek, Bertrand, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Armstrong, Walcott, Ings, Adams
Subs: Stephens, Redmond, Djenepo, Salisu, Diallo, N’Lundulu, Forster
