[Image] Willock starts, no Laca or Willian – My 4-3-3 Arsenal line-up vs Leeds Utd
Arsenal take on Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon. This is the team I’d like to see Mikel Arteta select for the game…
Bernd Leno will start in goal, obviously, but I hope we see Arteta go with a back four as the back three is killing us. Kieran Tierney is such a threat down the left flank and he’s wasted playing on the left side of a three so let’s start him in his best position.
Hector Bellerin should keep his place at right-back while I’d go with David Luiz alongside Gabriel in the middle of defence. Rob Holding is another option but he struggled against Villa last time out.
In midfield, Thomas Partey has been ruled out with a thigh injury – which is a huge blow for Arsenal – and Mohamed Elneny is also missing after testing positive for covid-19 during the international break so there will be changes in midfield.
With the switch in formation it means Arsenal will be able to field an extra man in the middle of the park and I’d go with Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos. Joe Willock also deserves a chance after impressing in the Europa League.
Arsenal have been pretty woeful going forward for much of the season so it’s time Arteta released the handbrake and I think it’s finally time he started Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang through the middle.
Our best player has been a shadow of his former self stuck out on the wing and he’s just not getting enough chances. Plus, Alexandre Lacazette is bang out of form right now so let’s play Auba up front tomorrow.
Laca and Eddie Nketiah can be options from the bench while I’d also leave Willian out against Leeds. He’s been shocking recently and Nicolas Pepe deserves a start on the right.
With Auba up top, Bukayo Saka could start in his best position on the left wing. I think my side looks far more balanced and it should hopefully give us more creativity going forward. Let’s just hope the defence holds it together!
This would be my line-up:
