Arsenal targeting £72m triple swoop after agreeing £250k-a-week deal with Aubameyang

By on August 7, 2020

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are targeting moves for Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian and Thomas Partey after agreeing terms with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a new £250,000-a-week contract extension.

Securing the future of Aubameyang is vitally important for Arsenal as he’s virtually carried us on his own this season. The Gabon hitman scored 29 goals in all competitions despite Arsenal’s shocking Premier League campaign that saw us finish eighth in the table.

Auba scored both goals against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final before scoring another brace at Wembley during the final win over Chelsea last weekend, which highlights just how important he’s become to the club.

The FA Cup victory secured European football for next season and that appears to have convinced Aubameyang to stay at Arsenal as the Evening Standard claims we’ve now verbally agreed terms over a new three-year deal.

The newspaper says the contract extension is worth around £250,000-a-week and the 31-year-old striker is now set to commit his future to Arsenal to hand Mikel Arteta a huge boost.

The boss is now turning his attention to strengthening the rest of the squad and the Evening Standard are one of several outlets claiming that Willian is set to join Arsenal after agreeing a three-year deal worth £100,000-a-week.

The Brazilian rejected Chelsea’s two-year extension offer and is now expected to move across London to link-up with former team-mate David Luiz at the Emirates once the Blues are knocked out of the Champions League.

Arsenal also need to strengthen in defence and the newspaper says Arteta is targeting a move for Gabriel after watching the South American centre-back impress with Lille last season.

French outlet La Voix Du Nord reported earlier this week that the 22-year-old has decided to join Arsenal in a deal which could be worth around £27m following successful talks with his agent.

With the likes of Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles expected to leave this summer, Arsenal need to bring in at least one new midfielder and the Evening Standard says we’re still in for Partey.

The Atletico Madrid star has been strongly linked with a move to north London this summer and AS reported recently that we’re offering him a lucrative contract to make a switch to Arsenal. The big issue is the fee as Atletico are demanding the full value of his £45m release clause.

So it looks like Arsenal are looking to pull off a triple swoop to sign Gabriel, Partey and Willian this summer which could set us back around £72m in transfer fees so we’re going to have to generate some serious funds if Arteta is to secure his targets.

Arsenal need also a world class playmaker, like our former player carzola.

Carzola is a good player but not world class.

It does not make sense to sign Willian. He will slow down the development of our youngster. He is also not worth the salary and 3 years contract. I would rather we save that amount and sign another left back or midfielder.

If we are giving Any that kind of wages and contract, then we must sell Laz. Then we can move Abu to the middle and also give our youngster chances to play and develop.

      August 8, 2020 at 10:14 am

Auba can not play as a center forward because he can’t hold the ball back to goal and that’s what Laca does excellently well

Mikel is loosing his way in the transfer market. Instead of trusting our youngster to step up and perform, he rather go for those expensive and declining player. If William is so good, Chelsea would have gone all out to keep him. If Abu is so good, the top teams would have come for him.

Kenneth your analysis is flawed 🤔 how do you underate auba, and wilian? This is the point unai Emery missed by lining many young star without experience. The results were a free fall and disastrous.

I don’t really understand what u are analyzing. Who told u teams are not coming for Auba? He’s the hottest striker in the world presently. At this level u are still talking about Arsenal Developing younger players? Are u for real? And as quick as Willain u are saying he will slow down the younger players? Wow, what a sport analyst u are. I doubt if u are a true Gunner

Thanks for your good comment, Aubam is among the best strikers in the world, last year he clinched top high goals scorer’s in England Premier league while this year 2020, came second in Premier league top high goals scorer.

Willian is not on decline, off late he has become surplus to Chelsea’s requirement due to the arrival of Werner and the impressive displays by Pulisic..He is a good addition if he joins us, and don’t forget that he is going to cost us absolutely nothing and will be paid only 1/4th of what is being wasted on Ozil.

Coming in of William is a good move for our team especially at the moment when we need results at all cost, we really need good experienced players like him and the lest plus our younger stars who will be benefiting alot fron these old guys. So let’s support our coach for the move he is making.

Our deals normally hype us this much but I pray that these can be realised since the owner can change his mind before purchase since Aub has allowed to stay he may leave the other much needed signings.

Arteta is doing very well for arsenal and I’m proud to have him as arsenal fc coach,he is good on what he is doing.it’s a welcome development for our captain fantastic Auba to signed a news contract and it show arteta knows what he doing on like before that arsenal lack the well power to hold onto their best player in the name of not having money for the transfer and giving the young player in the team the chance to play, just like what Wenger did lately before he left and the young players didn’t help us at all.for you to be one of the top club in your league you most have experience players in your team and that is what arteta is doing.I love Arsenal forever,Gunners 4 life. Well done to Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal team for winning the FA Cup. That said, if well sought and researched, there could or should likely be a player in the Premier League who can do or equal what Thomas Partey does. £45million pounds for a defender might be pushing the envelope, we’re not actually selling any player now for big money and funding frugality have long been Arsenal’s Achilles heel. Should they be successful signing all targeted three players, then they should come to the table fully prepared and driven to lift silverware next season.
