Arsenal vs Olympiacos: Betting preview with odds and prediction
Arsenal entertain Olympiacos in the second leg of our Europa League last-32 tie at the Emirates tonight.
We head into the game holding a vital 1-0 lead after Alexandre Lacazette scored a late winner in the first leg in Athens last week so Arsenal are firm favourites to progress to the next phase of the competition.
We’ve been steadily improving under Mikel Arteta and while there is still a long way to go there have certainly been some promising signs in recent weeks as we remain unbeaten in all competitions in 2020.
Sunday’s 3-2 comeback victory over Everton proved we still have improvements to make in defence but the players showed great spirit to come from behind to secure a much-needed victory.
Team news
Arsenal were handed an injury blow ahead of the game as Sead Kolasinac is facing a spell on the sidelines with a significant shoulder injury that he picked up against Everton on Sunday afternoon.
Kieran Tierney is back in full training after recovering from his own shoulder problem but he’s still lacking match fitness so Bukayo Saka is set to start at left-back this evening.
Calum Chambers has been ruled out for up to nine months with an ACL injury while Cedric Soares is still recovering from a knee injury but otherwise Arteta has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
I expect the boss to mix things up a little so we could see Lucas Torreira come into the midfield while Gabriel Martinelli and Alexandre Lacazette are pushing for recalls in attack.
Olympiacos have very few selection issues but they will be without defender Ruben Semedo due to suspension.
Preferred line-up
Leno, Bellerin, Mustafi, Luiz, Saka, Torreira, Ceballos, Pepe, Ozil, Martinelli, Aubameyang
Betting odds & Prediction
Betting is never easy as there are always upsets but it’s been particularly difficult to bet on Arsenal this season as our form has been so inconsistent. That’s why it’s always best to study all the available stats, learn betting systems and forex strategies, and find valuable opportunities before placing any bets on the market.
However, I do think tonight’s game represents a solid chance to bet on Arsenal and win some money! Olympiacos are a fairly average side and don’t travel well away from home in Europe so I’m confident Arsenal will win this evening. We’re priced as the 1/2 favourites to win inside 90 minutes tonight but if you fancy an upset, Olympiacos are 6/1 while the draw is 10/3.
I’m not tempted to bet at 1/2 so we’ll have to look for value elsewhere and I like the look of a 2-0 Arsenal win at odds of 6/1. We have a good European record at the Emirates and have kept three clean sheets in our last four games so that looks a decent bet to me. Add Aubameyang as first goalscorer for 18/1 if you’re being greedy!
