Arsenal are in desperate need of a win when we take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this evening.

Unai Emery is under huge pressure following a disastrous run of form in recent weeks that’s seen us drop out of the top four and defeat today would severely dent our hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season.

Arsenal currently sit six points off the pace after taking just two points from our last three league games against Wolves, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United so Emery needs to close that gap with a win at the King Power.

However, defeat would see Leicester open up a nine point lead and it would be very difficult to see Arsenal claw back that sort of gap given how poor our own form has been this season, so this really is a huge game for the club.

It’s going to be an extremely difficult match as Leicester are flying this season under Brendan Rodgers and they have an excellent team so I hope Arsenal are on top form or things could get messy.

Team news

Arsenal will be without Dani Ceballos due to a hamstring injury that he sustained during the draw at Vitoria while Granit Xhaka won’t be involved again after being stripped of the captaincy following his bust-up with the fans.

Emery will rotate his squad as the likes of Bernd Leno, David Luiz, Hector Bellerin, Matteo Guendouzi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all pushing for recalls after being rested last week.

Leicester have virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from as the only injury concern they have is Matty James – who’s out with an Achilles problem.

Betting odds

A quick look at the betting odds shows us that Leicester are the even money favourites to win tonight. Arsenal can be backed at 5/2 while the draw is available at 11/4. This is a tough game to call so why risk your own money when you can have a risk free bet?

My heart says Arsenal can get something from this game but a draw is probably the best we can realistically hope for. A 1-1 draw can be backed at 5/1 or 2-2 at 9/1.

Predicted score

Arsenal’s recent record against Leicester is poor as we’ve lost our last two trips to the King Power and the Foxes have won eight of their last 11 home matches so this is going to be a tough game. We’ve been playing poorly for some time and I don’t see us suddenly putting in a vintage performance.

Hopefully the players realise how important this game is for our top four chances and surprise us all with a top class display, but I’m not holding my breath. I wouldn’t be shocked to see us lose but I’ve got to back the boys to snatch a draw. Leicester 2-2 Arsenal.
