[Photos] Pepe & Ceballos all smiles in training as Arsenal prepare for Liverpool trip
The Arsenal players were put through their final paces at London Colney this afternoon ahead of Saturday evening’s huge clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
Arsenal currently sit joint top of the table with Liverpool on six points after winning our opening two Premier League fixtures for the first time in 10 years so it’s understandable the players were in buoyant mood today.
Nicolas Pepe looked relaxed on the training pitch today as he prepares to make his full debut for Arsenal at Anfield having come off the bench during the wins over Newcastle and Burnley.
Unai Emery has hinted our £72m record signing is now ready to start after getting another weeks full training under his belt so we could see Pepe lining-up alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette tomorrow.
Fellow summer signing Dani Ceballos has already made his full bow and what a performance he put-in against Burnley last weekend as the Spaniard picked up the Man of the Match award following a scintillating display.
There is no way Emery can leave the on-loan Real Madrid midfielder out against Liverpool after that performance so it will be interesting to see how Ceballos does against a tough Liverpool side at Anfield this weekend.
Mesut Ozil was also in full training today as he looks to make his first appearance of the new season while Granit Xhaka is set to return to the Arsenal squad tomorrow after overcoming a minor back injury.
Here are some photos from today’s session:
