[Photos] Pepe snapped at Colney after completing Arsenal medical ahead of £72m move

By on July 30, 2019

It’s time to get excited Arsenal fans as The Sun have published some sensational photos of Nicolas Pepe at London Colney after he completed his medical ahead of a £72m move from Lille.

The BBC reported earlier today that Pepe was in London to undergo his medical and sign a five year contract ahead of a club record move to the Emirates after he snubbed interest from Napoli in favour of a move to North London.

The Sun claims the 24-year-old has now completed his medical examinations and they’ve managed to get hold of some exclusive photos of Pepe at London Colney this afternoon.

The Ivory Coast international can be seen in the snaps holding an Arsenal club shop bag – presumably full of kits and other merchandise – and the paper says an official announcement is expected imminently.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano – who works for Sky Sports and the Guardian – says the photoshoot has already taken place so it looks as though all the formalities of the deal have been concluded.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will announce the transfer today or tomorrow but it’s only a matter of time before Pepe is a Gooner and he’s going to be a sensational signing for the club.

The attacker provided 22 goals and 12 assists last season and although he’s mainly a right winger, he can play anywhere across the attack so he’ll be a superb addition to our squad.

Interestingly, The Sun says we’ll only pay around £20m of the fee up front with the remaining £52m paid in installments over the next five years so the deal should still leave us with funds left over for further signings.

Arsenal are still hoping to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic while the BBC says Emery also wants another centre-back amid rumours suggesting Shkodran Mustafi could be joining Monaco so this could turn out to be one hell of a window!
