[Ratings] Wolves 3-1 Arsenal: One player gets a 3/10 as woeful Arsenal collapse

Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four have taken another huge hit after we slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Wolves this evening.

We were on top early on but struggled to create any clear-cut opportunities at goal and Wolves went up the other end to break the deadlock with their first shot on target. Ruben Neves firing home a superb free-kick midway through the first half.

Matt Doherty then headed home their second after some poor defending and goalkeeping from Arsenal, and Diogo Jota ripped us apart to make it 3-0 in first half stoppage time.

Sokratis headed home a consolation in the second half to make it 3-1 but Wolves eased to victory against a woeful Arsenal side.

These are my ratings:

Leno  3/10 | Nowhere near the free-kick, came flapping for the second goal and let the third go straight under him. Worst performance of the season from him.

Maitland-Niles  4/10 | Given a torrid time by Jota. Never impresses when he plays at right-back instead of wing-back.

Sokratis  4/10 | Played the whole Wolves attack onside for the second goal and fluffed his attempt to stop Jota for their third. Got our consolation but very poor performance.

Koscielny  5/10 | Struggled to marshal our woeful defence against a pumped Wolves attack.

Monreal  4/10 | Gave away the free-kick for the Wolves opener. Struggled to contain the Wolves attack.

Torreira  5/10 | Poor form continues. Lost out on the midfield battle and had no real positive impact on the game. He did at least try. Subbed at half-time.

Xhaka  4/10 | Lost the ball for the third goal and struggled to instigate attacks from midfield. His corner led to the consolation.

Mkhitaryan  4/10 | Totally anonymous for much of the match. One half-decent run early on was as good as it got for him.

Ozil  4/10 | Back to being poor in away games. Offered nothing going forward and was half-hearted in his defensive duties.

Iwobi  5/10 | A few nice touches but once again no end product. We badly need some proper wingers at the club.

Lacazette  4/10 | Should have had a penalty and blazed a decent chance well over when the score was at 0-0. Starved of service for most of the game.

Subs:

Kolasinac [4], Guendouzi [4], Nketiah [5]

So we’ve now suffered consecutive defeats and remain outside the top four by one point with three games left to play. Leicester away on Sunday is now HUGE…..
