[Teams] Arsenal first team duo make injury comebacks for U23’s against West Ham
Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Dinos Mavropanos will step up their comebacks from injury tonight as they start for the U23’s against West Ham.
The academy side head to Meadow Park to take on the Hammers this season looking to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League 2 after thrashing Man City last time out.
They’ll have an experienced name in their ranks as Mkhitaryan will start for the U23’s as he looks to make his return from a fractured foot that’s kept him on the sidelines since the League Cup defeat to Tottenham in mid-December.
Mavropanos came on for the last few minutes during our defeat to Man City yesterday and the centre-back will continue his comeback with a run out for the youngsters this evening.
The Greek international has started just one game for the U23’s way back in September as he’s been on the sidelines for four months with a serious groin injury so hopefully he can get some minutes under his belt tonight.
Eddie Nketiah will also get a chance to impress with the youngsters while first team hopefuls Joe Willock and Buyaka Saka also start.
Here is the Arsenal line-up:
Iliev, Osei-Tutu, Mavropanos, Pleguezuelo, Thompson, Gilmour, Willock, Mkhitaryan, Amaechi, Nketiah, Saka
Subs: Okonkwo, Ballard, Olayinka, Medley, Coyle
