[Photos] Key man fit to return as Arsenal & Suarez train ahead of Man City
Laurent Koscielny joined new signing Denis Suarez in training today as Arsenal undertook their final preparations ahead of Sunday’s trip to Man City.
Koscielny suffered a suspected broken jaw during the FA Cup defeat to Man Utd last Friday night following a clash with Romelu Lukaku but it was soon confirmed that he’d only suffered bruising.
The 33-year-old still needed a minor operation to remove a blood clot but he was back in full training today and is expected to feature at the Etihad tomorrow afternoon, which will be a huge boost for Arsenal.
Kos trained with Suarez for the first time at London Colney today and Arsenal’s new signing is hoping to be in the squad against Man City – although I suspect he’ll only be named on the bench.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was also on the training pitches in north London this afternoon as he looks to return to the squad on Sunday having recovered from a foot injury that’s kept him out for over six weeks.
However, there was obviously no Sokratis as he’s still recovering from an ankle injury that’s expected to keep him out until the end of February so he’s on the sidelines along with Hector Bellerin, Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding.
Here are some photos from today’s session:
