[Photos] 23-year-old Arsenal star trains with first team ahead of West Ham trip
The Arsenal squad have been undertaking their final preparations on the training field today ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Ham.
We head to the London Stadium for tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off and Unai Emery and his coaching staff have been getting the players ready for the game as we look to keep the pressure on fourth-placed Chelsea with a win.
Hector Bellerin was among the players to take part in full training this afternoon as the full-back looks to return to action following almost a month out with a calf injury that he sustained during the defeat to Southampton in December.
We’ve sorely missed Bellerin’s presence down the right side in recent weeks so it will be a huge boost to have him available for the trip to West Ham tomorrow [no more Stephan Lichtsteiner!].
Nacho Monreal is also set for a recall after returning to full training following a niggling hamstring injury while Shkodran Mustafi is back in contention after also overcoming his own hamstring complaint.
With Laurent Koscielny fit after missing the FA Cup win over Blackpool with a back complaint, Unai Emery suddenly has plenty of options in defence so hopefully we see a much improved performance at the back tomorrow.
Mesut Ozil could also return to the squad against the Hammers after overcoming a knee injury but he’s been out of favour with the boss is tricky away games so he may have to settle for a place on the bench.
Here are some photos from today’s training session:
