Video: Lucas Torreira scores stunning bicycle kick as Arsenal beat Huddersfield 1-0
Lucas Torreira scored a stunning bicycle kick late on as Arsenal edged out a stubborn Huddersfield Town side 1-0 at the Emirates this afternoon.
It was a frustrating first half as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette both missed great chance to open the scoring while the Frenchman also saw a perfectly good goal wrongly ruled out for offside – not for the first time this season.
Unai Emery changed things up at half time with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi coming on but we continued to be frustrated by the visitors and clear cut chances were at a premium.
However, we finally broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute when Lucas Torreira scored with an acrobatic bicycle kick from close range following great work from Aubameyang inside the area.
We saw out seven minutes of injury time – which tells you how much time wasting Huddersfield did before the goal – to extend our unbeaten run to 21 games and move up to third in the table ahead of Tottenham and Chelsea’s games this evening.
