Arsenal handed huge fresh injury boost ahead of Watford game
Unai Emery has been handed a huge boost as Sokratis has been passed fit to return for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Watford this weekend.
Sokratis limped off shortly before half time during our 2-0 victory over Everton on Sunday afternoon after suffering a dead leg while challenging for the ball near the centre circle.
He tried to carry on after receiving treatment but was eventually replaced by Rob Holding and wasn’t risked during our Carabao Cup third round victory over Brentford on Wednesday night.
There was some doubt over whether the defender would recover in time for the visit of Watford to the Emirates on Saturday but Goal journalist Chris Wheatley has confirmed that Sokratis is now available for selection this weekend.
He tweeted:

It’s a huge boost to have Sokratis back as he’s been one of our most consistent performers so far this season and has settled in to life in England quickly following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
The Greek international has been a dominant force at times and his recovery pace has helped cover for Shkodran Mustafi on more than one occasion so it will be vital to have him back against fourth placed Watford on Saturday.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will also be available again after making his comeback last night having missed the Everton game last week with an ankle injury while Sead Kolasinac was back on the bench against Brentford following a knee problem.
