Arsenal eyeing Serie A forward as Emery plots £60m double swoop

By on July 6, 2018

According to reports via TeamTalk, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Torino forward M’Baye Niang as Unai Emery plots a £60m double swoop also involving Hirving Lozano.

The boss has been busy strengthening our defensive unit so far this summer but Emery is now ready to turn his attention to the attacking third and it seems he’s got his targets lined-up.

TeamTalk are citing a report from Tuttosport that claims Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing Torino forward Niang but we’ll have to fight off competition from the likes of Everton, Monaco and Marseille.

Arsenal have long been linked with the Senegal international and reportedly made enquiries when he was at AC Milan before joining Torino last summer on an initial loan deal.

TeamTalk says the agreement includes a clause allowing Torino to make the move permanent for £17.5m this summer but it looks like Arsenal could challenge the Serie A club for Niang’s signature.

The 23-year-old was once considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in Europe but he’s failed to live-up to the hype having scored just 12 goals in 79 games for Milan and notched just 4 while on loan at Torino last year.

He’s no longer a raw youngster so he should be starting to fulfill his potential and I personally don’t think he has the quality to succeed at Arsenal, but it seems the club have different ideas [and who am I to argue?!].

Any move for Niang could be part of a £60m double swoop as TeamTalk are citing a report from TransferMarketWeb as claiming we’re also trying to sign Mexican international winger Hirving Lozano.

The 22-year-old starred for his country at the World Cup this summer and provided 19 goals and 11 assists in his 34 appearances to help PSV Eindhoven win the Eredivisie title last year.

Lozano only moved to Holland from Pachuca last summer in a £7m deal but the report suggests he’ll now command a fee in the region of £42m and we’ll have to fend off interest from the likes of Barcelona.

Therefore, a deal for Lozano is going to be difficult but the winger would be an excellent addition to the squad if we could lure him to the Emirates this summer.

If we could only sign one of these two players, my choice would easily be Lozano!
