Player suggests Arsenal move is ON as Emery closes in on 2nd signing

By on June 12, 2018

According to a report by TeamTalk, Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Yacine Adli has suggested that his move to Arsenal is still ON after denying claims he’s had a change of heart.

Adli has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks and widespread reports claimed new head coach Unai Emery had persuaded the youngster to join him in north London.

Emery worked with Adli during his time at PSG and gave the 17-year-old his senior debut with a substitute appearance during a draw with Caen towards the end of last season but his future in France is in serious doubt after rejecting PSG’s contract offer.

RMC Sport reported last week that Arsenal had ‘completed’ a deal to sign the talented teen after Adli agreed terms over a three-year contract and we were due to pay PSG around £200,000 compensation for his signature.

The French publication then reported over the weekend that Adli had had a last minute change of heart and had rejected the proposed move to Arsenal amid speculation that Real Madrid had made a late move for him.

However, Adli has played down those reports by saying the media have no idea what they are talking about – suggesting a move to Arsenal is still on track.

When quizzed about the reports he’d turned his back on Arsenal, Adli is quoted by TeamTalk as saying:

“You have no idea what you’re on about.”

So it looks like our move to sign Adli is still on and we’ll be getting one of the best young talents in French football if this proposed deal gets over the line this summer as the attacking midfielder has played at various youth levels for France.

Emery has already strengthened his defence with the arrival of Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus but it looks like Adli is set to become our second signing of the summer window.
