Terms agreed: Arsenal to sign French midfielder after agreeing 3-year deal

By on May 31, 2018

According to reports in France via TeamTalk, Arsenal are set to sign highly-rated French midfielder Yacine Adli after agreeing terms over a 3-year contract with the Paris Saint-Germain youngster.

New boss Unai Emery has raided his former club and has identified Adli as the man he wants to sign just weeks after handing him his senior debut during a 1-1 draw at Caen last season.

The 17-year-old is one of PSG’s most talented youngsters and the Ligue 1 champions were desperate to tie him down to a long-term contract but they’ve failed to convince him his future remains in Paris.

TeamTalk are citing a report from Paris United that claims Adli has turned down PSG’s lucrative offer in order to sign an initial three-year deal with Arsenal with the option to extend the contract by a further two-years.

The report says that Adli was convinced by Arsenal’s project after meeting with club officials and has also snubbed a number of other top European sides to join Emery at the Emirates.

The teenager feels he has a better chance of breaking in to the first team at Arsenal than if he was to remain in France with PSG so Adli is expected to be unveiled as Emery’s first signing.

We may not know too much about this youngster but he’s highly rated and has represented France at several youth levels while he’s drawn comparisons to Javier Pastore for his style of play.

The attacking midfielder has superb technical ability and is comfortable with both feet so his signing is considered to be something of a coup for Arsenal as he has a huge future ahead of him.

We’ll have to wait and see if Adli is able to force his way in to Emery’s plans next season but it looks like we’ve snapped-up one of Europe’s most exciting youngster so let’s hope he develops in north London.
