[Photos] Arsenal’s double injury boost as duo return to training ahead of Atletico clash
Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey taking part in training today.
Mkhitaryan hasn’t featured since suffering a knee ligament injury during our 4-1 victory against CSKA Moscow just over two weeks ago and there were initially fears he could be out for the rest of the season.
However, the Armenian international has made a swift recovery and has been snapped back out on the London Colney training pitches this afternoon where he trained on his own away from the rest of the first team.
Mkhitaryan won’t play against West Ham tomorrow but he’ll be assessed over the coming days and still has a chance of being in contention to face Atletico when they come to the Emirates next Thursday night.
Ramsey has also been photographed in training today but he was able to return to full training with the rest of the squad after training on his own this week due to a nasty cut.
The Welsh international sustained the wound against CSKA Moscow earlier this month and wasn’t risked against Newcastle last weekend but he should be back in the squad tomorrow.
I don’t think Rambo will be risked from the start as he should be protected ahead of the Atletico game but he’s certain to start in the Europa League semi-final first leg.
