“Sad day” – Piers Morgan, Ian Wright & David Seaman react to Wenger leaving Arsenal

By on April 20, 2018

Shock waves are still reverberating around the footballing world after Arsene Wenger announced his decision to leave Arsenal this summer.

The long-serving boss has been manager of this great club for almost 22 years since arriving as an unknown Frenchman in 1996 and he’s led us to some of the best times in the clubs history.

Three Premier League titles including the Invincibles, a record seven FA Cups, two doubles, a new stadium and 20 successive seasons in the Champions League during his 1228 games in charge is certainly an impressive haul.

However, fans grew tired in recent years and a growing number of supporters expressed their feelings by staying away from home games this season leading to speculation the end was coming.

Change was needed and Wenger announced this morning in a statement on Arsenal.com that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Obviously there has been plenty of reaction to the news today and life-long Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was quick to post a message on Twitter simply saying “Breaking: Wenger out” after he got his wish for Arsene to leave.

Former striker Ian Wright expressed his shock at the news of Wenger leaving while David Seaman said it’s a ‘sad day’ for the club but asked fans to give the Frenchman the send off he deserves with a hashtag #rememberthetrophies.

Bonaroca:-I am very sorry that Mr Wenger is leaving the club, but I think
after giving 22 years service to the Club in which he gave Arsenal Supporters
much during his time that also included the building of the New Stadium
deserves to be honoured and applauded.
I hope like any supporter (since 1946) wish him well, and hope that Board
will appoint a top Manager the likes of Massimilliano Allegri or Jachim Lowe
who are serious coaches who have brought to teams and country good results
without any fuss on the line and not the type, screaming their heads of or
    jumping around like monkeys
    Good Luck.

Piers never liked Wenger. An many others: Tony Adam, the Bristish Media, some media-instigated Arsenal fans, Michael Owen (who is a avowed Arsenal eternal enemy), etc…endless list. Arsenal must have a short time of preparation to enter into an Arseneless-Arsenal. Please, Dear Ftaher God, may the experience not be anything like that of Manchester United’s.

Am very frighten after watching on social media he resigned but I know always after such honored era of Arsene Wenger, things may slow down slightly, anyway we can not Judge yet since the world never know overhead, am an Arsenal fan since 2002 double and still remain a gunner. I hope they bring good successor with exciting experiences, guys like Enrique, Anceloti & Joaquin Lowe to manage Arsenal, we the Africans supporter’s are really tired of seeing our rivalry clubs taking trophy and always cherishing nothing. I hope for the best for Wenger to be like Sir Alex Ferguson. Always behind his beloved club. Once a gunner #always remain Gunner#@Khemis#southsudan#Juba

It has been for sometimes, every gunners wish to seek for change. However, the good memories, deeds and achievements of Wenger made it difficult for the board and fun to agree that it was time to say goodbye to the man who produced the invincible team, the man who is the architect of the Emirates standium and to the man who revolutionised the English way of playing football. At the end funs have made it possible. Some of us are still grieving his loss but I think it is the right time for the professor to go. Lack of trophies started to spoil his legacy.
I still think he is the greatest manager that managed Arsenal FC. However, his magic has abandoned him for quite sometime. Wenger deserves a big send off. Therefore, let’s us get together and make possible for him and the club.
