[Photos] 5 teenagers train with Arsenal first team ahead of CSKA Moscow clash
Arsene Wenger invited 5 of his young guns to train with the first team ahead of Arsenal’s crucial Europa League second leg clash with CSKA Moscow on Thursday night.
We flew out to Russia this afternoon holding a 4-1 lead from the first leg after Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey put us in control of the tie with braces against CSKA at the Emirates.
No doubt it will be a tougher game in a hostile atmosphere on Thursday but Arsenal should still be confident of getting a positive result and booking our place in the last four of the competition.
Ahead of the game, the players were put through their paces at London Colney this morning and Wenger invited some of his young guns to take part with the rest of the first team.
Youth prospects Trae Coyle, Robbie Burton and Matt Smith joined Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah in training with the big-boys today and no doubt the teenagers will have been keen to impress the boss.
However, only Nelson and Nketiah are expected to be named in the squad tomorrow as they’ve been regulars in the cup competitions this season and Nelson even made his full Premier League debut against Southampton at the weekend.
Wenger is due to hold his pre-match press conference later this evening but there isn’t expected to be any surprise team news with David Ospina, Santi Cazorla and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all ruled out while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ineligible.
