Giuseppe Riso confirms he’ll ‘definitely’ hold transfer talks with Arsenal
According to the Metro, Giuseppe Riso – the agent of Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto – has confirmed he will hold talks with Arsenal about a possible summer move.
Arsene Wenger is under huge pressure following a poor campaign with a growing number of fans calling for him to step down but the boss is carrying on as normal and planning ahead for the summer.
A new central midfielder is on the agenda as Jack Wilshere is yet to sign a new contract, Granit Xhaka has been a huge disappointment and Aaron Ramsey has just over a year left on his deal.
We were strongly linked with Jankto last summer and again in January but the Czech international decided to remain with Udinese and continue his development in Italy.
However, it looks like the 22-year-old could be on the move at the end of the season and his agent has confirmed he will hold talks with Arsenal about a potential switch to the Emirates.
Riso suggested that Jankto would be given the chance to shine at a club like Arsenal but revealed that AC Milan are also in the running for the midfielders signature.
The agent is quoted as saying by the Metro:
‘They’re eligible teams. Jankto is an important profile, we decided with the Pozzos not to talk about it in January to let him grow and mature.
‘Milan and Arsenal are attentive to youngsters, we’ll definitely talk with them.’
Jankto has become a regular with Udinese this season having started 21 of their 26 league games so far and he’s managed to provide 3 goals and 4 assists from central midfield.
I’m not convinced he’s ready to start for Arsenal just yet but he’d be a solid squad player for next season if we manage to lure him to the Emirates this summer.
