Unhappy £94m attacker open to joining Arsenal this summer
According to TeamTalk, Ousmane Dembele is unhappy at Barcelona and is open to joining Arsenal this summer if the Catalans sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.
Dembele only joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth around £94m last summer but he’s managed to make just four starts since moving to Spain.
The French international’s time at the Nou Camp has been hampered by a serious thigh injury and he’s struggled to force his way in to Ernesto Valverde’s starting eleven since returning to fitness.
TeamTalk cite Don Balon as saying that the 20-year-old is growing increasingly frustrated with life at Barca and is concerned he’ll fall further down the pecking order if they sign Griezmann.
Barca are expected to sign the Frenchman from Atletico Madrid and the report says Dembele is ready to join Arsenal if his compatriot does end up moving to the Nou Camp.
We’ve been linked with a move for Dembele in recent months with the Mirror reporting in February that the youngster has been identified as a key summer transfer target.
Dembele was regarded as one of the most highly-rated attackers in Europe during his time at Dortmund and he certainly has bags of ability so I’d love to see him come to the Emirates if a deal could be agreed.
If he did join Arsenal, Dembele would link up with former Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he’d bring with him some much needed pace and width to our attack.
