[Photos] Arsenal handed boost as key duo return to training ahead of Man City cup final
Arsenal have been handed a double boost with Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil returning to full training today ahead of our Carabao Cup final with Manchester City on Sunday.
Ramsey has missed our last two matches after picking up a groin injury after scoring a hat-trick during the 5-1 thrashing of Everton earlier this month.
However, the Welsh international was back in training today and while Arsene Wenger has confirmed he won’t feature against Ostenstands tomorrow, Ramsey does have a chance of being fit to face City this weekend.
The boss also revealed that Ozil had been bed-bound with sickness on Monday and Tuesday with the virus ruling him out of tomorrow’s Europa League last-32 clash.
But Mesut was also back in training at London Colney this afternoon and the German playmaker should be fully fit to line-up against City in the League Cup final.
Wenger is expected to rest several of his key men against Ostenstands on Thursday night as we hold a 3-0 advantage from last weeks first leg so the likes of Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal Hector Bellerin and Jack Wilshere should be rested.
Reiss Nelson, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah will all be hoping to feature tomorrow after taking part in first team training today while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start as he’s cup-tied on Sunday.
