Aubameyang update: Dortmund ready to agree deal with Arsenal at £57m

By on January 25, 2018

There have been some important updates regarding Arsenal’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang today.

We’ve been in negotiations with the German club all week after chief exec Ivan Gazidis, head scout Sven Mislintat and legal expert Huss Fahmy flew-out to Dortmund last weekend.

An opening offer of £44m was quickly rejected and Bild, via the Express, reported yesterday that our follow-up bid worth around £51m was also knocked back by the Bundesliga outfit.

Olivier Giroud then emerged as a key part of the negotiations with widespread media outlets saying that Dortmund wanted to take the Frenchman in part exchange for Aubameyang’s signature.

It initially seemed like a good idea as Giroud needs regular game-time ahead of the World Cup, Arsenal need to make room for Aubameyang and Dortmund need a replacement.

However, Sky Sports are reporting this evening that sources close to the negotiations claim that the Giroud talks have broken down and the striker will NOT be joining Dortmund this month.

Now it’s down to Arsenal to agree a straight cash deal and German outlet Sport1 are reporting that while Dortmund have been holding out for around £61m they are now ready to do business at £57m.

That’s still £6m more than Arsenal’s last offer but it’s a good compromise deal for both clubs and £57m is still an excellent price for a player of Aubameyang’s quality in today’s market.

However, even if we agree a deal at £57m there is still a stumbling block to overcome as Dortmund won’t sell the Gabon international until they’ve secured a replacement.

Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi has been touted as a target but the Blues won’t release him until they sign another striker so it looks like we could be relying on our rivals to take care of their transfer business before the domino’s will fall.

It’s a precarious situation and it looks like our proposed move for Aubameyang is going to go down to the wire unless we can find a breakthrough in talks soon.

Remember the Higuain fiasco, the Suarez £40,000,001 fiasco, the Lemar fiasco and now the Aubamayang fiasco. Wenger/Arsenal are simulating/pretending. Once is chance, twice is co-incidence, three times is enemy action. Answer that Wenger. Abamayang was never coming to Arsenal. Hundreds of supporters wrote that two weeks ago. We must be psychic. Arsenal will not sign Aubamayang. They will sit on the £30,000,000 from the Walcott, Coquelin sales. They will not spend a penny more if they were to spend.

Exactly, we have been linked to Cavani, Suarez, Higuain, Icardi, Bale, Mbappe, and Auba in the past 5 summers. We may end up with Benzema in the end, who is well past his prime.

Though most clubs are spending the money and as much as fans wants Auba at Emirates, we should not forget the policy and financial capacity of each club. it’s a tradition and identity. sorry for the fans.

Very soon u will hear RM join the race to sign Auba n BVB wil see asking price hiking to £70m+ n wenger pulls out n start chasing benzema for £55m…a 30yrs old out of favor/form at RM wont have impact at PL wenger…buy Auba even if it was £65m….£57m is surely a bargain for such a prolific striker to partner a frustrated lacazette whom Alexis never wanted to provide him wth assists to b outshone..wth Auba in CF,Laca n Mikhi in rght n left wings, ozil behind him, then wilshere n upsurging xhaka in DM(ramsey not good in enough in PL matches coz he too is selfish in front of goal n lately making poor decisions as many backpasses unnecessary)then bellerin, mustafi, laurent, monreal n ospina rather than cech who also seem to take time b4 making decisions..ospina is impresive to him now..

He is a superstriker and has proven it year in and year out!!
We have the cash Dortmund is asking and it is not too much, it is in this inflated transfer business a bargain!!!
Dont let him slip away as Suarez and many others has done before!!!

It’s a lot of money for a 29 year old who’s game is based on pace. That’s the rub of it. The news about them only selling once they get a replacement is terrible but can’t be true. You don’t negotiate a deal then say it’s all conditional on bringing someone else… oh wait that’s what we did with City on Transfer deadline day… awkward… 😐 Still, I think it’ll be done at 57m, and I think that’s a lot.

Mr Wenger is a joke,i personally think we have a chance to finish top 4 this since Liverpool lost to Swansea last week,if you look @ the Team we have i just cant see it happening,we need atleast a proven Striker( Auba),a defensive midfielder like ( Serie) & proven Defender…as an Arsenal surpoter i’m fade up with Mr Wenger with all his lies on Press,on Sanchez saga 2 weeks ago,on the press he said we need to replace him quickly,Auba was the right solution but i can’t see the deal happening.Mr Wenger is pretending like he want to do bussiness whilst he looks happy with his current squad after beating Chelsea.I mean, if we go to the final nxt month & play with all see is humiliation.Mr Wenger, you did a good Swap with Miki but we still need a right replacement for Sanchez,we you have the money to spend, make history by retiring & win something, you time is ticking.

Ther hav bin several seasons n wenger has bin dat they r active in market bt ends up buying none,he z agreat dceiver who thinks only n only about making profits bt does nt think abt da club n fans,da club has sold alot ov players,i recall guys lyk paulista, coqlin, walcot, gibs, chamberlain,n otherz on loan but NOTE:WHICH EVA BIZNES SELLS WITHOUT INVESTING OR BUYING MO ITEMS COLLAPSES

The most frustrating moment of being an arsenal fan is during the transfer window. The foolish Wenger won’t sign anybody. We will end up with mukterhian as our only signing this u will tell me.

Chelsea won the league last season nd still manage to sign quality players, Wenger end up as a fifth nd buy average player, wot a mess, am very sure as arsenal beat Chelsea Wenger nd its stingy shareholders won’t go 4 auba thinking dat d team is 100% beta bt if Chelsea won d carabao cup semi like 0-4 they will do business we may end up wit 19yr old striker that is yet unknown if we can loose our next match . UP GUNNERS

Wenger easily get convinced with few win. When arsenal demolished Cristal palace and then Chelsea wenger has seen arsenal to be ok. He does not need a striker. He is a fanny man with old and ideas and si predictable

Mr Wenger is just too economical.buying a prolific striker in Auba’s qualities at £57 nd u think its too much money,we shall shade tears not until he leaves our club.Gooner frm Uganda

arsenal without Sanchez tiz Season is abit tricky, for he was a machine that always delivered arsenal wen they seemed to sink.. so arsenal and Arsen should buy Auba for he kan perfectly fill the void left by Sanchez
