[Photos] Arsenal dealt huge double blow as key duo miss training ahead of Chelsea
Arsenal appear to have been dealt a huge double blow ahead of the Chelsea game as there was no sign of Laurent Koscielny or Mesut Ozil at training today.
Koscielny was forced off during the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon after aggravating a long-standing Achilles injury.
Arsene Wenger admitted at his pre-match press conference this morning that the centre-back had just a 30% chance of bring fit to face Chelsea tomorrow night.
And it looks like Koscielny has failed to prove his fitness as the French international wasn’t among the group of players who took part in training at London Colney this afternoon.
Ozil missed the West Brom game after picking up a knee injury during the 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace last Thursday and the boss also confirmed he was a major doubt for the Chelsea game.
Wenger said Ozil would have a fitness test today but it looks like he too has been ruled out of the game tomorrow night as there was no sign of the playmaker at training this afternoon.
It’s highly unlikely Wenger would allow either player to feature against Chelsea if they didn’t train today so I’d be stunned if Koscielny or Ozil featured against the Blues, which will obviously be a huge blow.
We are already missing Sead Kolasinac, Aaron Ramsey, Nacho Monreal, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla so it seems the boss will be without seven important players for the Chelsea game.
