Arsenal star Theo Walcott has confirmed he’s back in full training after recovering from illness that’s kept him out for the last two weeks.
Walcott missed the win over Tottenham earlier this month through illness but he was initially expected to be back in contention for the trip to Cologne four days later.
However, the virus has proven more difficult to overcome as Walcott was unable to travel to Germany for our Europa League group stage clash last week – which was a shame as he’d probably have started that match.
The 28-year-old was once again ruled out by Arsene Wenger for the trip to Turf Moor as Theo wasn’t involved during the 1-0 win at Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
But it looks like Walcott is finally over his illness as the attacker has taken to Twitter today to share a photo of him in training with a caption saying he was glad to be back on the pitches at London Colney following two weeks on the sidelines.
Theo said:

It’s been a strange season for Walcott as he’s been on the periphery of the first team with the vast majority of his football being played with the second string in the cup competitions.
Obviously it’s tough for Theo to get in ahead of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil but he’s even behind the likes of Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck so he’s certainly fallen out-of-favour under Wenger.
Nevertheless, it’s good to see him back in training as with the games coming thick and fast, we’re going to need to use the full depth of our squad if we’re to compete on all fronts over the festive period.
