[Photos] Arsenal boost as duo train ahead of Tottenham showdown
Arsenal duo Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck look set to return to the squad against Tottenham tomorrow after taking part in full training today.
Mustafi has missed our last seven games in all competitions since picking up a thigh injury while away with the Germany national team squad in October.
The centre-back has been working on his fitness at London Colney this week and Arsene Wenger said at his pre-match press conference yesterday that a decision over his involvement would be made on Friday.
Welbeck has also been out for over a month after suffering a groin injury during our defeat at Watford but the boss was also due to assess his fitness at training today.
It looks like the duo should be fit to return to the squad as both Mustafi and Welbeck have been snapped taking part in full training along with the rest of the squad as we prepare to take on Spurs tomorrow.
Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Rob Holding and David Ospina were also involved in the session today after recovering from knocks so we should have a strong squad this weekend.
With the exception of Santi Cazorla, the only other major absentee was Olivier Giroud as he’s been ruled out of the Tottenham game with a thigh injury.
