Arsenal duo nominated for October monthly awards
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been nominated for the Premier League October Manager of the Month award while Nacho Monreal is up for the Player of the Month award, via Arsenal.com.
After our usual sluggish start to the season, we picked things up in October and kicked the month off with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brighton at the Emirates.
We were unfortunate to come away with nothing from Watford two weeks later but got back on track with a stunning 5-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
We finished off October by coming from behind to beat Swansea 2-1 at the Emirates last weekend meaning Wenger won 3 and lost 1 of his league games last month.
The boss has now been nominated for the Manager of the Month award and will be up against Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Sean Dyche.
Meanwhile, Monreal continued his fine form this season with another run of superb performances last month as he was ever-present during our games throughout October.
The Spaniard scored the opening goal during our win over Brighton and grabbed a vital equaliser en route to our win over Everton so it’s no surprise the defender has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month.
Nacho will be up against Man City duo Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne along with Glenn Murray, Nick Pope and Wilfried Zaha.
Good luck to Wenger and Monreal….sadly I think we’ll see Guardiola and De Bruyne scoop the awards.
