Referee confirmed for Man City game – his record in charge of Arsenal is worrying
Michael Oliver has been revealed as the referee for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, the Premier League confirmed today.
Arsene Wenger takes his squad to the Etihad Stadium this weekend looking to make a statement against one of our big-six rivals and Oliver will be the man in charge of proceedings.
Worryingly, Arsenal’s record with Oliver as the referee is shocking as we’ve only won four of the 20 games he’s officiated while we are yet to win a single Premier League away game with Oliver as the referee [W0 D5 L5].
This doesn’t bode well for what is going to be a hugely difficult task already against an in-form City side that sits top of the table and playing some of the best attacking football we’ve witnessed in years.
Let’s hope we get a bit of luck from Oliver this time around as we’ll certainly need it if we’re to get anything against City, but I won’t be holding my breath.
2.15pm Man City v Arsenal (Sky Sports)
Referee: Michael Oliver
Assistants: Simon Bennett, Stuart Burt
Fourth official: Andre Marriner
