Eddie Nketiah announced himself on the big stage as he came off the bench to score both goals and secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Norwich in the League Cup tonight.

We fell behind in the first half but youngster Nketiah came off the bench to score a late equaliser before netting our second in extra-time to make himself an instant Emirates hero.

Here are my ratings:

Macey  7/10 | Chipped for the opening goal and was fortunate not to concede again when stranded in no-mans-land after the break. Did make a good save to prevent us going 2-0 down just before half time.

Debuchy  6/10 | A few nervy moments, including being fortunate not to concede a penalty at 2-1, but the Frenchman put in a solid display considering it was his third appearance in 2 seasons.

Elneny  5/10 | Dragged out of position to allow Norwich a clear run at goal for the opener. Shouldn’t be playing at centre-back. Good corner to assist Nketiah’s second.

Holding  5.5/10 | Didn’t have the pace to catch Murphy as he ran clear to open the scoring and wandered out of position in the second half which should have led to a second.

Nelson  6.5/10 | Probably one of our better performers. Lively in the first half but his delivery let him down a few times.

Coquelin  4/10 | Woeful all night. Passing was terrible, position worse and booked for a poor tackle.

Wilshere  6/10 | Great to see him get close to 120 minutes under his belt. Wasn’t as influential as previous outings but played a few lovely passes. Understandably tired the more the game went on.

Maitland-Niles  5/10 | Nowhere near his best but once again played in an unfamiliar position at left wing-back. Should have started in the middle ahead of Coquelin.

Walcott  4/10 | Should be bossing games like this but struggled to influence things against a Championship side. Offered virtually nothing of note.

Iwobi  5.5/10 | Showed some glimpses of his quality but these are the games he should be producing in if he wants to be a first team regular.

Giroud  4/10 | Barely involved before the equaliser. Literally forgot he was playing at times. Clearly wasn’t interested tonight.

Subs:

Akpom  7/10 | A few stray passes and he missed a couple of decent chances but worked hard to do his defensive duties when needed.

Nketiah  9/10 | Dream introduction for the 18-year-old as he scored the equaliser just seconds after coming on before heading home to make it 2-1 in extra-time. Almost scored his hat-trick too.

Dasilva  5/10 | Not much time to get involved.

Overall, it was a dreadful performance, especially from the so-called big names like Giroud, Walcott and Coquelin. We were rescued by an 18-year-old making his debut and he was the only positive thing from tonight’s game.
