German international could join Arsenal in January – report
According to a report by talkSPORT, Paris Saint-Germain are willing to negotiate a swap deal involving Julian Draxler and Alexis Sanchez this winter.
Draxler was strongly linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes during the summer window following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona while Kylian Mbappe’s move from Monaco also saw him fall further down the pecking order.
Arsenal were among the clubs to reportedly show a keen interest in signing the German international but he ended up staying at PSG and has started just four of their nine matches in all competitions this term.
talkSPORT are now citing reports coming out of France that claim PSG are willing to use Draxler as bait to land Arsenal attacker Sanchez when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The French giants were strongly linked with Alexis in the summer and it looks as though they are desperate to try and beat Manchester City to his signature this winter.
I think we’re all resigned to losing Sanchez as he’s highly unlikely to sign a new contract with Arsenal and I’d much prefer to see him join PSG over our Premier League rivals City.
I’m also a huge fan of Draxler so a swap deal involving the pair in January would be ideal and I hope Wenger jumps at the chance if PSG do offer the 24-year-old in exchange for our unsettled Chilean.
Draxler has the potential to be a real super-star if he’s given a more prominent role at a new club and I’d love to see him given that opportunity at the Emirates Stadium.
