Video: BATE Borisov 2-4 Arsenal: Giroud nets 100th goal in thriller
Giroud finally got his 100th goal for the club as Arsenal beat BATE Borisov 4-2 in a thriller in Belarus this evening.
We came flying out the blocks and took the lead in the ninth minute as Walcott bundled home from close range before he pounced on a mistake from the goalkeeper to fire in to the bottom corner.
Holding then made it 3-0 in the 26th minute as he found the back of the net following a corner but BATE pulled one back to make it 1-3 at the break following some poor keeping from Ospina.
The referee then awarded us a dubious penalty just minutes after the restart and Giroud converted to make it 4-1 after scoring his 100th goal for the club.
More woeful defending led to BATE making it 4-2 in the 67th minute as Gordeichuk slammed home after Ospina had parried a Ivanic header.
There were no further goals so we come away with a 4-2 victory that cements our position at the top of Group H.
