[Photo] Arsenal attacker sent for drugs test after starring in win over West Brom
Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette was selected for a random drugs test after scoring both goals during our 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion last night.
Lacazette continued his fine goal-scoring record at the Emirates as he opened the scoring with a close-range header in the first half before sealing a 2-0 win from the penalty spot after the break.
It was the French international’s fourth goal in just three home starts so no doubt Lacazette will be hoping to maintain his excellent form when Brighton come to north London on Sunday.
However, the striker took to Twitter after the game last night to reveal that he had been selected for a random drugs test and joked he was only chosen because he scored both goals.
Several players are randomly picked out for drugs tests after games so I’m sure it was nothing to do with his goal-scoring exploits but players never enjoy the process.
Lacazette was substituted with 15 minutes to go last night and Arsene Wenger felt he needed a rest as the former Lyon hitman is still getting used to the physical demands of Premier League football following his summer move.
