Arsenal table record bid as Wenger eyes £164m double swoop

By on July 8, 2017

According to reports in Spain via the Daily Star, Arsenal have tabled a world record £124m bid for Kylian Mbappe as Arsene Wenger eyes a big-money double swoop on Monaco.

The boss has already been busy in the summer transfer market having broken our club record to snap up Alexandre Lacazette while defender Sean Kolasinac has arrived on a free transfer.

However, it looks like Wenger is still hoping to secure further new recruits and widespread reports in recent weeks have linked us with two of Monaco’s star players.

Mbappe has emerged as the hottest property in world football after scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season and he’s attracted interest from several top clubs.

The Daily Star are citing a report from Spanish outlet Diario Gol that claims Arsenal have joined PSG in submitting world record bids worth a whopping £124m for the teen sensation.

The report doesn’t indicate whether Monaco has responded to our offer but they do say that Mbappe’s future isn’t strictly linked to just money and the striker will ultimately have the final say on who he joins.

Diario Gol also suggest that the 18-year-old has reservations about joining Madrid as he’s concerned about the lack of regular playing time he’d get at the Champions League winners so Arsenal do have a decent chance of winning the race for his signature.

Any deal for Mbappe could be part of a double swoop on Monaco as the Daily Star report that we’ve also tabled an improved offer worth £40m for attacker Thomas Lemar.

The 21-year-old was also a key player last season and understandably Monaco are desperate to keep hold of him so it’s going to be extremely difficult to pull off what would be a sensational £164m double swoop.

With Lacazette already on the books I don’t see how we have room for Mbappe and Lemar without the likes of Alexis Sanchez or Olivier Giroud leaving so I’d expect departures if we manage to land the French pair.

I had expected Alex Sanchez to show respect and loyalty to Arsenal. Is it in his time at arsenal to he came to limelight and won his continental trophy back-back and had his first ever appearance in FIFA Confideration cup. His side was rated between Portugal to lift the cup but he was defeated by rookies Germans. Under Pep he was a shadow of what he has metamophosed into in Arsenal. What Pep couldn’t establish in him, Wenger did but if his greed will blind him then let him go; even Messi and Ronaldo have not made such outrageous demand.

I beseech you Gooners to do a little bit of research on Kylian Mbappe. I was a little put off by the crazy prize tag on his forehead but after doing some research on this man-child i know why Wenger wants to break the bank to secure his service. He is far from being the final article but he possesses blistering pace, he brushes defenders like they are just a flimsy curtain in front of him. He makes four consecutive mistakes in one move and still recover before the defense can do anything about it. He runs intelligently and passes like Ozil at his best. He is a young Thierry Henry and i dont say this lightly. I’m in awe of the boy. He is a cross between Neymar and Henry. He scares me

Alexis is filling our mind with nonsense. Does he want to be the club’s manager so that he’s paid such an abnormal salary? Or will he be two men in a match so that he is paid twice?…Wenger should let him GO.

wenger should keep sanchez. give him the £400000 he wants. then bench him for the whoke season. let him train with the youth side… then include tough clauses in the contract like getting half the salary when he gets injured. he will have styled up.

Sell Sanchez. I know RVP won the title for RF. Back then, the Dutch boy was disillusioned with Wenger whose brand of pretty soccer aint getting anywhere and was proven right.
As for the Chilean,he is holding Arsenal to ransom. It doesnt mean if he were to go to MC or anywhere else,he could stary winning games and trophies. Nothing is guaranteed.
