Arsenal boss confirms huge injury blow ahead of Man City showdown

Arsene Wenger has been speaking at his press conference this morning and he’s confirmed that Aaron Ramsey will miss Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City this weekend.

Ramsey missed the 3-1 win over Stoke City earlier this month after picking up what was initially described as a minor hamstring injury in training shortly before the match.

The Welsh international was then ruled out of Tuesday nights disappointing defeat at Everton with Wenger saying the midfielder was just short of fitness so missed the trip to Merseyside.

The boss has now given reporters his latest team news update at his press conference this morning and unfortunately Ramsey has once again been ruled out of our game with Man City on Sunday.

The news will come as a huge blow as I think Rambo would have been the ideal player to come in to the side this weekend to face Pep Guardiola’s City team. They are obviously a dangerous attacking side and Wenger may have been tempted to play Ramsey on the right wing to cover for Bellerin against the likes of David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

However, we’ll have to make-do without the 25-year-old so hopefully Theo Walcott doesn’t neglect his defensive duties on Sunday or it could be a tough game for our young Spanish full-back.

The good news is that Wenger suggests Ramsey is close to making his return so hopefully he’ll be back in contention when West Bromwich Albion come to the Emirates on Boxing Day.

The only other notable team news for this weekend’s game was that we have a few ‘bumps and bruises’ following the Everton defeat but thankfully Arsene says they’ll all recover in time to face City, so we’ll have the same squad which went to Merseyside.
