Dates confirmed for Arsenal’s Champions League tie vs Bayern Munich
The dates have been confirmed for Arsenal’s Champions League last-16 showdown against Bayern Munich.
The draw for the knockout stages of the competition was conducted this morning and sadly we were once again pitted against the German champions, despite topping our group.
The dates have now been confirmed and we’ll head to the Allianz Arena for the first leg on Wednesday February 15th following our Premier League clash with Hull at the Emirates.
We will then welcome Bayern to the Emirates for the return leg on Tuesday March 7th, which is just three days after our huge league game against Liverpool at Anfield.
Champions Leicester come to the Emirates the following weekend so it means we’ll have a decisive week playing Liverpool [A], Bayern [H] and Leicester [H] in March.
Now that the dust has settled following the draw, I’m actually starting to look forward to it. Bayern aren’t as good as they’ve been in recent years and this is certainly our best squad in recent memory so we have a good chance to finally getting the better of them.
Playing the second leg at home could prove to be crucial if we can keep ourselves in the tie with a positive result in Germany, it’s just a shame we’ve been scheduled to play the second leg on Tuesday following the huge Liverpool game.
