Rivals plotting audacious double swoop on Arsenal – reports
According to a report in The Times via the Express, Manchester City are plotting an audacious double swoop on Arsenal for Jack Wilshere and Hector Bellerin this summer.
New City boss Pep Guardiola is expected to be extremely busy this summer rebuilding the squad he inherited from Manuel Pellegrini and it seems the Spaniard has set his sights on two of our young guns.
The Express are carrying a report which originates from The Times which claims that City have held a long-standing interest in Wilshere and Guardiola has given the go-ahead to trying to lure him away from the Emirates.
Jack has two years left on his current deal and it’s understood City want to take advantage of the fact he isn’t a guaranteed starter under Arsene Wenger by tempting him to make the move north.
Guardiola is also on the look-out for a new right back to replace the ageing Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna and The Times claim the former Bayern Munich boss is keen to lure Bellerin to Eastlands along with Wilshere.
Good luck. There is no chance Arsenal would do business with City for either player. Jack is Arsenal through and through, and is a future captain of the club. I have no doubt he’ll sign an extension soon and hopefully begin to fulfill his potential with an injury-free year next season.
As for Bellerin, again there is no chance we’d sell. He’s under a long-term contract and has become the best full-back in the Premier League so there is no reason we’d entertain any interest from City.
Boss confirms move as Arsenal close in on second signing
If Bellerin was to eventually leave, I’m willing to wager that like Fabregas, he’ll head back to Barcelona where he grew up but hopefully that won’t be for a few years yet.
So Guardiola will have to look elsewhere as I’m confident Arsenal will politely tell City where to go if they do come calling for Jack or Hector this summer.
