Confirmed: Arsenal’s player of the season announced
No surprises for guessing who has won the Arsenal Player of the Season after the club confirmed that Mesut Ozil has scooped the prize.
The German international enjoyed an outstanding first half to the season and at one point he seemed nailed on to win the PFA Player of the Season as he was racking up an incredible number of assists, including a record run of seven games in a row.
His form has dipped slightly since the turn of the year but Ozil still ended up with 8 goals and 20 assists in all competitions and he ended up creating a ridiculous 181 scoring opportunities for his team mates.
Just think how many assists he’d have got if we had a world class striker up front!
Ozil has now been rewarded for his fine form by being named as the Arsenal Player of the Season, beating Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin to the award.
Congrats Mesut. The award is fully deserved. Let’s hope you sign a new contract extension soon and get a few more world class players to play alongside next season.
Congratulations @MesutOzil1088 – your #VitalityUK @Arsenal Player of the Season! Details: https://t.co/TSJtrW32vJ https://t.co/rFJNeBRUJL
