Key man left out of 4-2-3-1 line-up: My Arsenal XI To Face West Ham
Arsenal will look to keep their slim title hopes alive when we take on West Ham at Upton Park on Saturday afternoon….this is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with.
Goalkeeper: Cech
Cech was back on the bench against Watford after recovering from a calf injury but he should now be fit enough to start meaning Ospina will drop out.
Defence: Bellerin, Koscielny, Gabriel, Monreal
Gabriel put in another solid display alongside Koscielny against Watford so I don’t see any reason for Wenger to change things against the Hammers, which means Mertesacker should continue on the bench.
Bellerin is obviously going to keep his place at right-back while Monreal is ahead of Gibbs on the left side of defence.
Midfield: Coquelin, Elneny
Ramsey is due to return to the squad this weekend after recovering from his thigh injury but the big question is should he regain his place straight away? Rambo has been a key player in the first team for several seasons but I personally don’t think he should get a recall just yet.
Elneny has been excellent alongside Coquelin in recent weeks and we’ve looked far more solid in the middle of the park so I think that partnership should continue at West Ham. Plus, Ramsey isn’t 100% match sharp yet anyway.
Wilshere will step-up his return by making an appearance for the under-21’s on Friday but for now he remains unavailable along with Cazorla and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Attack: Iwobi, Ozil, Sanchez
Iwobi was in great form against Watford after chipping in with a goal and an assist so the teenager should definitely keep his place this weekend. Sanchez has also looked far more dangerous on the right so I’d be disappointed if Arsene decides to change things against the Hammers.
Obviously Ozil should keep his place in attack too so the likes of Walcott and Campbell will once again have to make do with places in the bench.
Striker: Welbeck
Welbeck didn’t get on the score-sheet last time out but his pace and movement cause defences plenty of problems so I’d go with him ahead of Giroud again this weekend.
This would be my line-up:
My line-up would therefore consist of just one change [Cech] from the side that beat Watford so convincingly last weekend. Let’s hope whoever Wenger selects will get the job done and bring home a vital three points.
