Wenger confirms major double injury blow
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny both picked up injuries during our 1-1 draw at Norwich this afternoon.
Koscielny was forced off and replaced by Brazilian international Gabriel inside the opening 15 minutes at Carrow Road with a hip injury.
Cazorla on the other hand received treatment at the end of the first half after taking a kick to his knee. The midfielder was able to carry on but you could see he was still carrying the injury and Arsene fears he may have damaged his knee ligaments.
Speaking to Arsenal.com after the game, the boss said:
In the first half he got a kick on the knee and it got worse. I don’t know if he has jaded his knee ligament or he it was just a kick on the nerve but the worrying thing was it got worse during the game. For Koscielny it was a kick on his hip and he could not move at all. We have to assess all of that.
Our injury situation just gets worse and worse. Just as Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain return, Cazorla and Koscielny pick up injuries while Sanchez was also forced off with a hamstring problem.
It really is becoming a complete joke and we’re never going to be able to sustain a title challenge unless we figure out why we keep picking up injuries, or we prepare for them by building a squad capable of coping with the inevitable 8-10 players on the treatment table.
Our latest casualties will be assessed over the coming days so let’s hope for positive news, but being Arsenal I think we should all be preparing for the worst….

Its very funny how this situation happens every season. I wrote an article yesterday on Sammy Margo, she’s a top physiotherapist (http://wp.me/p6W2LE-yL) who suggested that its could be because of Wenger’s tactical approach to the game. My annoyance for Wenger is simple, if you know your tactical approach increases the chances of your players getting injured and you know you can’t change your approach then buy enough cover up for your team.
Its beats my imagination to think that Arsenal were the only club in the whole of Europe last summer who didn’t buy one outfield player, its just insane, I think Wenger is taking the fans for granted. I also think Arsene Wenger is the only man in Europe that doesn’t know Arsenal needs a second defensive midfielder (no disrespect to Flamini and Arteta, am sure Arsenal fans agree with me) and a second out-and-out striker. Anytime Giroud scores brace in a game even if I don’t have the chance of watching the game I know probably he has mixed about 18 chances before scoring two, that’s Giroud for you. Henry was right, Giroud can never win Arsenal the league tittle…..Never!!!!
