Video: Arsenal starlet scores stunner for England U19’s vs Germany
Arsenal starlet Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a worldy as England under-19’s defied the odds to beat Germany 3-2 despite being down to 10-men for much of the game.
The Three Lions were 1-0 ahead thanks to an effort from Sheyi Ojo before Jonjo Kenny was sent off for handling on the line early in the second half.
The Germans pulled level shortly after but despite their numerical disadvantage, England took a 2-1 lead through Dominic Solanke before Arsenal’s latest boy-wonder stepped up.
Maitland-Niles collected the ball on the edge of the area before smashing home a stunning effort into the top corner to give Aidy Boothroyd’s men a 3-1 lead.
Germany pulled one back but it was Maitland-Niles’s goal that turned out to be the winner as the visitors held on to secure an impressive victory.
This goal is sure to do the 18-year-old’s chances of breaking through at Arsenal no harm what-so-ever.
