Arsenal To Target Bayern Munich Star If Wenger Fails To Land Benzema
So, the identity of Arsenal’s ‘mystery’ striker target has been revealed this morning and it’s none other than Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
The story goes like this…..
Well know journalist, Kike Marin – who works for Spanish newspaper El Confidential – caused a stir on Tuesday after claiming Arsene Wenger has a back-up option in mind if he fails to land No.1 target Karim Benzema this summer.
This led to British outlets like the Metro, etc, reporting that Arsenal were lining-up a move for a’mystery’ striker and fans have been debating on social media over who the player in question could be.
Thankfully Mr. Marin put us out of our misery this morning after revealing that Arsene’s back-up option is in fact Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

Obviously it’s great to hear that the boss is ambitious enough to go for the very best players in the world but sadly I think he’s being a little optimistic if he thinks Bayern will sell Lewandowski this summer.
The Polish hitman is arguably the most complete out-and-out striker in world football and clearly he’d be a sensational signing if we could somehow pull it off.
Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a chance the German giants would sell – especially after seeing Bastian Schweinsteiger leave. The owners would get lynched by the fans.
Benzema will be hard enough to prise away from Real Madrid so lets hope we have a back-up to our back-up as it appears Arsene’s first two targets are going to be extremely difficult to sign.
