Ratings: Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa: Ozil On Form For Classy Gunners

By on May 30, 2015

Arsenal retained the FA Cup with a stunning performance to see-off Aston Villa 4-0 at Wembley this evening thanks to goals from Walcott, Sanchez, Mertesacker and Giroud. Here are my ratings:

Szczesny  6/10 – Very little to do other than claim a few crosses. Wasn’t given the opportunity to show what he can do due to Villa’s lack of threat.

Bellerin  6.5/10 – Always keen to get forward and join the attacks. Given no trouble at the back.

Koscielny  7/10 – Dealt with the threat of Benteke with ease.

Mertesacker  7/10 – Comfortable at the back and popped up with another Wembley goal.

Monreal  6.5/10 – Quietly went about his business and put in another solid display.

Coquelin  7/10 – Wasn’t as busy as we might have expected but still protected the defence when needed and played some lovely passes.

Cazorla  8/10 – Given MOTM by the BBC for his superb all-round display. He was everywhere.

Ramsey  7/10 – Not at his most influential as he was played at right-wing again, but still put in a decent shift.

Ozil  9/10 – Outstanding display. Pulled the strings and was comfortably the best player on the pitch for me. Showed his world class talent on the big stage.

Alexis  8/10 – Another stunning goal to round-off an excellent debut season at the club.

Walcott  8/10 – Superb opening goal with his wrong foot. He offers so much more than Giroud through the middle with his movement and pace. Could have had a hat-trick on another day.

Subs:

Giroud 7/10 – Lovely outside of the foot finish to make it 4-0 late on.

Wilshere 6/10 – Glad he made an appearance at the cup final.

Great performance. FA Cup winners again. Most successful FA Cup team in history. Stunning way to end the season. I’m off for a drink…..
