Arsene Wenger Confirms Injury Blow Ahead Of FA Cup Final
Arsenal have received an injury blow as Arsene Wenger has confirmed Danny Welbeck won’t be fit in time to play any part in Saturday’s FA Cup Final.
Welbeck missed our last five games during the Premier League run-in after suffering a knee injury in training at the start of the month.
The problem was only initially expected to keep the 24-year-old out for a matter of days but it’s proved to be far more serious than first thought.
There were hopes Welbeck would recover in time to put himself in contention for a place in the squad to face Aston Villa at Wembley this weekend.
However, Arsene has now confirmed that the bone bruising hasn’t heal sufficiently, so Danny won’t be available on Saturday and will also miss England’s upcoming double-header against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia.
It’s a big blow as I think Welbeck would have been a useful player to have against Villa, but thankfully Walcott is back on form and Giroud should be fresh after being rested at the weekend, so we should have enough firepower in attack.
